In terms of “Humanistic Buddhism”, Yinshun (A.D. 1906-2005) was inherited the ideas from Taixu (A.D. 1890-1947), and continued to develop the related thoughts. As far as the ideological construction of “Humanistic Buddhism” is concerned, Yinshun should be the one with the most dense theory, so that since the 1980s, whenever Humanistic Buddhism is mentioned, it is almost regarded as Yinshun’s Humanistic Buddhism thought. For quite a period of time, some criticisms and reviews of Humanistic Buddhism, included the practice and theories, mostly were also discussed and judged according to Yinshun concepts.
