Ghost Wife and the Tale of the White Snake,respectively folklores of Thailand and China,are both stories about marriage between human and non-human,which is depart from the local belief,and the latter were suppressed by Buddhism finally.The comparison of the two stories leads us to the conclusion that folklore is a means of the spread of Buddhism,which prevails and absorbs local belief in the end,and furthers our understanding of Thai traditional belief.
