From 2002 to 2006, Xinjiang Archaeological team of Institute of Archaeology of CASS conducted archaeological prospecting and excavation on some sites of a Buddhist temple in Damagou Village of Cele County in Hetian area of Xiniang.The temple Tuopulukedun No.1 is, to date, the smallest temple of the middle ancient times.And it is also the most well-preserved building of Buddhist hall in the Taklimakan Desert area.According to the building relics and the mural paintings, the original appearance of the temple can be restored. The temple Tuopulukedun No.2 is a representative large hall of west regions with ambulatory and Buddhist figure. And the mural of thousand-handed and thousand-eyed Bodhisattva in Temple Keladun No.1 is the latest Miscet mural up to the minute.
