The Nyāya System along with the Vedānta forms two major schools among the 6 Hindu Darśanas in the sense that both of them are still living tradions in India, the former, among professonal philosophers in academic circle, the latter, as the doctrinal foundation of Hinduism. The Nyāya System and Buddhist Logilcal School have a long history of debate and mutual influence as the result of which they contributed to make the Indian Philosophy and Buddhism more rich and affluent. Therefore to uderstand the Buddhist Logic properly it is necessary to study the Nyāya System. I have already introduced in the Korean akademic world, the Annambhaṭṭa's and part of the Keśavamiśra'a . This paper is a Korean translation of the first Adhyāsa of the with a brief explanation based on the Vātsyāyana's . The first Adhyāsa of the composed of 2 Chapters(Āhnika), 11 topics(prakaraṇa) and 61 Sūtras shows the subjects and aim of the Nyāya System and the definitions of 16 padārthas.
