摘要
규기는 그의 저서 『장중추요』에서 상견동종별종론에 이어 삼류경론을 전개하고 있다. 상견동종별종론은 상분의 종자와 견분의 종자가 같은가 다른가를 다루는 논의이고, 삼류경론은 이 논의의 성과를 기초로 해서 세 가지 대상의 규정을 다루는 논의이다. 삼류경론은 상견동종별종론을 기초로 해서 전개되지만, 상견동종별종론이 식소변의 문제와 직접적으로 관련되는 데 반해, 삼류경론은 대상의 유형들을 규정하는 문제와 관련되어 있다. 상견동종별종론에 의거해서 볼 때 상분의 종자가 견분의 종자와 같다면 독영경이고, 다르다면 성경이고, 같기도 하고 다르기도 하다면 대질경이다. 규기는 현장의 가타를 해석하면서 성류와 계계를 끌어들여 대상을 더 명료하게 규정할 수 있었다. 여기서 더 나아가 또 삼류경 상호간을 결합해서 또는 성류와 계계와 종자 상호간을 결합해서 대상을 더 명료하게 규정할 수 있었고, 대상과 대상 간의 관계를 더 명료하게 파악할 수 있었다. 그러나 그는 기본적으로 상견동종별종론에 기초해서 삼류경을 해석하는 작업을 진행했기 때문에 상분을 중심으로 해서 대상의 유형들을 파악할 수밖에 없었고, 그 결과 한 대상 내의 다양한 대상들의 차이를 파악할 수 없었다. 이로부터 대상의 다양한 유형들을 온전하게 파악하려면 다양한 견분들 및 이 견분들 간의 관계에도 주목할 필요가 있다는 알게 되었다.
In his treatise named 『掌中樞要』, Kyugi(窺基) is interpreting the three types of objects according to the Hyunjang(玄獎)'s Gāthā. This theory of three types of objects are closely related to the theory of whether the object's seed(種子) is identical with or different from the act's seed. When the object's seed is different from the act's seed, the object is the real(or existent) one(性境). When the object's seed is identical with the act's seed, the object is the empty (or nonexistent) one(獨影境). When the object's seed is both identical with and different from the act's seed, the object is the object with reality(帶質境). The theory of whether the object's seed is identical with or different from the act's seed is closely linked to the transformation and manifestation of the consciousness, and the theory of three types of objects to the determination of various ones. In order to determine various objects, Kyugi is trying to apply to the analysis of the object the other concepts such as the ethical feature[性] and the belonging to the sphere[界繫]. With the help of these concepts he is attempting to divide and subdivide the various kinds of objects. He succeeds in determining the various types of objects more clearly in terms of the combination of each type of the object and the connection of the ethical feature, the belonging to the sphere, and seed. However, he is not able to apprehend the difference between a variety of objects since he proceeds to interpret the three types of objects on the basis of the theory of the object's seed. This shows that it is neccesary to take note of the various acts and the relationship between acts.
