원효(617-684)와 친란(1173-1262)은 대중에게 불교를 포교한 인물이다. 두사람의 인생에는 많는 공통점이 있다. 결혼을 하고 자식을 나은 점, 이름을 바뀐 점, 대중에게 불교를 포교한 점등이다. 원효는 대승기신론을 바탕으로 무량수경을 해석해서 정토사상을 전개했다. 친란은 전면적으로 무량수경에 의해서 저토사상을 전개했다. 친란은 오직 아미타불의 회향에 의한 불도를 설했다. 원효는 정토에 왕생하는 인은 단지 여래의 본원력을 받음으로서 라고 말했다. 또한 그들은 정신성에 있어도 공통점이 있다. 특히 불지에 대한 태도는 공통하고 있다. 불지에 모든 것을 맡기고 불도를 걷고자 하는 태도이다. 불도에 있어서는 함께 신심을 중요시 했다. 원효에 있어서는 신의 성취, 친란에 있어서는 신심의 획득이다. 단지 친란은 아미타불의 전면적 회향에 의한 불도인데 원효는 완생인는 단지 아미타불의 본원력을 받암으로서 라고 말한다. 두 사람은 불지의혹을 문제시하고, 그 불지의혹을 어떻게 해서 넘어 가는가를 깊히 논고했다.
Wonhyo(617-684) and Chinran(1173-1262) are the man who preached Buddhism to general public. Their life have many common points. They ware married, had son, and changed their name. Wonhyo expanded Pure Land Buddhism in base of Daesung-kishinron and Muryangsu-kyeong. Chinran developed Pure Land Buddhism in base of Muryrangsu-kyeong entirely. Chinran preached the Buddhist way of which Amita-Buddha’s transferring his merit only. Wonhyo preached that the cause of being born in Pure Land was the power of Buddha’s vow. Chinran thought that the faith is big awakening Bodhi Mind.and the faith was the cause of being born in Pure Land. Chinran taught the Buddhism based on Amita Buddha’s transferring his merit to the people. They had common spirit. Especially attitude to Wisdom of Buddha. They had attitude to leave their own to Wisdom of Buddha. In the Buddhist way, they thought the faith as important. Chinran taught the Buddhist way which is transferred by Buddha. Wonhyo taught that the Birth in Pure land is sustained by Buddha’s power of the original vow. They thought the problem of the doubt to Buddha’s power of Wisdom. And they deeply gave consideration to get over the doubt to the Buddha’s Wisdom.
