Owing to persisting in his own opinion and refuing Buddha’s teachings, he was consigned to hell, and beyond rescue. With great sadness, Buddha forseed that Sunakşatra would break Kusala - mūla and become an Icchantika, use every possible means to save him, but invalid. It was all not to damage Buddha’s magnificence but prove that the law of causation he stressed again and again is right:suffer the consequence of what one does. Others can do nothing to hep.
