Buddhism spread into Korean Peninsula during the 4th century, the time when the three kingdoms of Kogurgo, Silla and Paekche were fighting for domination. Though all of them accepted Buddhism and regarded it as a holy way to safeguard their territories, the time of Buddhism spreading to the three kingdom were different due to different geographical, political, economic and culture environment:Kogurgo was the first to accept Buddhism, then Paekche, Silla the last.
