Scripture-worship was the central content of people’s secular Buddhist lives and one of the important parts of customs in the Tang Dynasty.To these phenomena,we should pay more attention to the outstanding status of The Diamond Sutra. This paper analyses the forms, the rites, the purposes, the backgrounds of the people’ s activities of worshiping The Diamond Sutra in the Tang Dynasty and the relations between the activities and the scripture. Moreover,the paper thinks that the rise of the Dhyna Sect promoted the spread of The Diamond Sutra in secular people, effected others scriptures-worship activities, and in the last made scriptures-worchip, which was one of the oldest forms of Buddhism-worship, the most prominent part of people’ s secular Buddhist lives in the Tang Dynasty . For this reason, Dhyna Sect wasn’ t the factor which had prevented Buddhism form secularizing.
