This paper proposed a hypothesis that Xiao Tong's compromise consciousness in literary criticism may be influenced by the theory of three teachings together original and the view of twofold truth and middle way in Liang Dynasty's Buddhism. Then,by investigating Xiao Tong's literary criticism thought, a conclusion is achieved that Xiao Tong's compromise consciousness in literary criticism is evidently influenced by the thought of three teachings together original and the method of middle way. Therefore , the Buddhism thought in Liang Dynasty is an important factor to influence Xiao Tong’ s compromise consciousness in literary criticism.
