The Inner and Outer 'Eighteen Emotional Behaviors (they would be expanded into one hundred and eight behaviors)' is a way for the sacred scripture editors to gather together the doctrines about 'egoism'，'anything related to the self'，etc, in order to explain that one should not hold false or heterodox view about oneself.
By studying the Chinese translated of the Samyuktagama, it has been found that many errors has been committed in the section that concerning the 'Eighteen Emotional Behaviors'. Therefore，people have found it difficult to read and grapsed its ideas. Also，having studied the P.T.S. version of the same scripture，a Romanized copy from Pali，it has been found some other error exist. As the Pali scriptures are written in transliteration with Burmese or Thai languages acting as a base，probably these errors were committed by the Romanizing trans- literators who could not grapse well the change of Sandhi in the original Pali text.
Therefore，the author gather together the Sutras and `Sastras` of both Mahayana and Hinayana Buddhism that concerning the 'Eighteen Emotional Behaviord' in order to compare them with each other for revision. Then，he interprets the precise doctrines of the above-mentioned 'Behaviors' he has revised the text for the readers in order to assist them in understanding the concept of 'non-existence of permanent ego' and looking forward to reach Nirvana.
