| 摘要 | This is a study on the `Vajra-cchedika-prajna-paramita-sutra` or more simply known as Diamond `Sutra`. It is primarily an analysis with critical comments on the contents of this `Sutra`. Basically, we applied a textual and philosophical methodology in this study，on the one hand investigating the literary evidences and sources of important terms in the text，while on the other hand analysing and expounding their philosophical meanings. As regards to the important thinking patterns demonstrated in the text，e.g. the simultaneous negation and the four-aspect negation，there are particularly detailed explanations of them. Our explanations are far more detailed than those found in works currently in circulation among contemporary research circles.
The Diamond `Sutra` has extant Sanskrit text，as well as many Chinese translated texts. This study is based on `Kumarajiva` 's translation，which is not only faithful to the original text，but smooth as well，rending it to be the most popular translation available today. Our approach in this study was to divide the text into several small sections, and systematically make commentaries to reveal the meanings of their contents. Certain small sections touched on more important ideas and philosophical questions, hence they received more detailed study. |
