This book is a protest against the excesses of western,Christian, urban thought, particularly as regards the radical separation of man from nature. The virtues of man's re-entrance into the whole of nature,as exemplified in oriental philosophies in general and Zen Buddhism in particular, are set forth. And the conclusion suggests the application of the principles of Zen to sexual relations, as a means of overcoming the isolation of man from his fellows and thus as a step toward overcoming the isolation of man from the rest of the universe.
