Hyujong，one of the father figures of Choson Buddhism in Korea, attempted to provide a means of syncretizing the essential elements of Confucianism，Buddhism and Taoism in the 'Sagma kwigam'，or 'The Ideal Mirror of the Three Religions.' As such, his work is one of the foundations of Korean religious thought and tradition，emphasizing harmony. The book and the context in which it was written are discussed.
