A technology institution with the aim to develop industrial technology has to count on general education to complete the education of "whole being". This project based on the Buddhist education would assist in setting up the goal of general education, designing the curriculum and other relevant problems. The whole plan was to focus on the following five essential studies. 1. To glean and sort out the relevant studies on the existing religious education and Buddhist education in Taiwan. 2. To analyze the essences, policies, purposes and goals of the present-stage general education both nationally and internationally. 3. To extract the quintessence of general education from Buddhist education 4. To practice an experiment on Buddhist education in Yuan Ze Institute of Technology and induce the function of general education from it. 5. To accomplish the evaluation of perception in Buddhist general knowledge and morality. The above five cores have been presented respectively in each chapter of the achievement report of this project. Generally speaking, Buddhist education is helpful to the cultivation of ethic morality and the exploration of humane spirits. It can facilitate the development of general education in a technology institution.
