From this research, we hope to clarify the proper domain, potential, and difficulties of Meditation Curriculum in General Education, provide feasible teaching materials and activity, and assist in reaching the goal of educating the "whole man". The research will adopt an interdisciplinary approach between Buddhist Meditation Teaching and Academic General Education. Not only we study the literature from both systematical and exegetical contexts, but we also apply qualitative methods to the research of teaching materials and activities to produce an interactive and inductive process of inquiry. The second phase's research will be based on the findings of the first phase, and concentrate on these three aspects: (1) Searching a proper perspective for the Meditation Curriculum in General Education. (2) Comparing, analyzing and evaluating various Meditation Curriculum. (3) Suggesting some feasible meditative teaching materials and activities in General Education.
