In the middle of the 7th century, Damo Chan saw a new trend. It was the Niutou Sect that first brought Damo Chan a breakthrough. And Hui Neng, based on Hongren Chan, gave it a new explanation directly. Both Jingzhong and Baotang Sects which originated from the Northern Chan Sect also contributed to the new trend. In brief, the characteristic of the new trend during the period from the mid 7th to the early 8th century was that the realistic human nature was considered as the supper nature, the realistic life as the cultivating rites and Chan as the all Buddhism system.
