In the history of the spread of Christianity in China, there were four important periods. The Christian branch spread to China in Tang was Nestorianism, which was called "Jingjiao" in China. In the 5th year of Huichang period (845D.C.), in the fight between Buddhism and Taoism, Wuzong ordered that Buddhism be extinguished. The Nestorians were driven away and Nestorianism in inner China came to extinction gradually.
