莫高窟第449窟東壁北側非《佛頂尊勝陀羅尼經變》辨析=The painting on the north flanking of the eastern wall in Cave 449 Mogao Grottoes is not the illustrations to the Usnisa Vijaya Dharni
According to some scholars,the sutra shelf in the illustrations to sutra depicted at Mogao Grottoes only appears in the illustrations to Usnisa Vijaya Dharani sutra and it is also a unique symbol for identifying this sutra illustration.Hereby,they identify the sutra illustration of Profound Gratitude toward Patents on the north side of entrance wall in Cave 449,which shows a sutra shelf,as the illustrations to Usnisa Vijaya Dharani sutra.This article discusses whether the sutra illustration in discussion is the illustrations to Profound Gratitude toward Parents or not, and also illuminates that the sutra shelf is not the only symbol for identifying the illustrations to Usnisa Vijaya Dharani sutra.
