The Scroll of Foreigner Portraits by Painter ZHANG Shengwen is a piece of well-known and important Buddhist Art that was precious and rare Buddhist art of the Independent Dali Country (960-1120), now in the collection of the Palace Museum of Taibei in Taiwan. Starting from the 20th century, the Taiwan scholars known as Mr. LI Linchan and Professor LI Yumin had worked with diligence and without fatigue on the valuable scroll and they had attained rich achievement that is generally recognized fact to be known to the world. Based on rich material, this article try to reviewing to important contribution on the study of this scroll by two generations of the scholars of Taiwan.
