| 摘要 | 鳩摩羅什的破戒一直是古今學者和僧人關注的問題，在中國佛教史上產生較大影響，也形成了各種不同的看法。但是很少有人對破戒的思想淵源去深究。從各種文獻記載來看，他的破戒一方面與個人主觀因素有關，另一方面也有著這種思想產生的客觀因素。鳩摩羅什東來前生活和學習佛法所處的西域印度的佛教社會環境，是他後來的破戒發生的重要思想來源因素。同時小乘佛教經典的一些思想，仍然在鳩摩羅什的身上留有痕跡，我們不能以當時內地佛教僧人的戒律遵守標準來看待當時西域和印度僧人的思想狀況，這樣可以讓我們對破戒問題有一個客觀的認識。
Kumarajiva’s breaking of his religious precept has been an issue which arouses the interest of many scholars both in the past and now，both in China and abroad． Views vary concerning this matter． But few people bother to study the reasons of the breaking． This paper holds that Kumarajiva’s breaking lies in both his personal subjective factors and objective factors． We can get a good understanding of the problem from his early life and in his learning environment of Western regions and India．
