Buddhism was an important cultural category in Six Dynasties. It exerted profound and extensive influence on the development of literature at that time. The influence included three dimensionalities: the first is language dimensionality. Its influence included that Buddhist text translation provided new concepts, Buddhist text language offered new style, and Buddhist text hymn contributed to new sound meter knowledge. The second is idea dimensionality. Its influence included that a lot of new Buddhist ideas affected literary world view, life view and aesthetic view. The third is thinking dimensionality. Its influence included rigorous logic, Madhyamika thinking mode and argumentative skill.
