《梁高僧傳.經師論》解讀 : 西域與中原佛教音樂關係之考析=Explanation of Liang Gao Sen Zhuan Jing Shi Lun: Analysis of the Relationship of Buddhist Music between the Western Regions and Central Plain
Jin Shi Lun (Master Interpreter and Chanter of Buddhist Scripture), a volume of Gao Sen Zhuan (The Biography of Eminent Monks) written by Hui Jiao of the hang of the Southern dynasty, discusses the function of Buddhist music, its representative figures, significant events and the origin of Buddhist music in China. Some of the content in Jin Shi bin are proved by artistic images in the murals of grottoes in Kucha. This paper also gives a new explanation for the origin of the Buddhist music in China and argues against the old views. Based on these explanation and analysis, the paper reveals that the Buddhist music of the Western Regions is the most significant source of the Buddhist music in China.
