The work of interpreting and recording Dunuang documents has been going on for more than a century and though the quality of explanatory texts is partly associated with the knowledge and experience of the interpreters, this work is much more influenced by the condition of the original manuscripts. Generally speaking, it is relatively easy to record documents about classic texts and more difficult to record and explain manuscripts about social life, and it is much more difficult when working with manuscripts handwritten by folk transcribers of a low cultural level. The manuscript Wuxunian Hongrunxiang Baixing Linghuanding Qingdi Zhuang(Linghu Anding from Hongrun Village Asking for Land in the Year of Wuxu) discussed in this paper was scribbled in light ink and is very hard to record and interpret, but with the aid of previous research the author has made great efforts to render a more accurate explanatory text.
