This paper considers the contents of the Guanyin Xuanyi(The Profound Meaning of the Avalokite vara Sūtra), the Guanyin Yishu(The Interlinear Commentary on the Avalokite vara Sūtra), and the commentary on the Guanyin Chapter of the Fahua Wenju(The Interlinear Commentary on the Lotus Sūtra) as the commentaries on the Avalokite vara Sūtra. And the author introduces the influence of Jizang’ theory, which Satō Tetuei and Hirai Shunei pointed out, and the problem of the foundation of those commentaries, and their structure and contents.
