The cliff carvings of the Heilong Temple in Zhenghua Village at Aoling Town, Renshou County,Sichuan Province have 18 niches, each containing a variety of archaeological material. Though small in scale the carvings are rich in content, among which the preaching scenes of Tianzun(the "Senior Lord" in Taoism),Sakyamuni, Vaisravana and his attendants, Avalokitesvara, and the Thousand-Tianzun are most striking. According to research conducted on the overall forms and image combinations and themes of these carvings, it can be concluded that they were created in the Middle or Late Tang dynasty.
