The following is a selected list of Japanese books on Buddhism published in 2019. Similar surveys, compiled by Hubert Durt, were published in Cahiers d’Extrême-Asie from 1985 to 1994 (vols. 1 to 7). Since these earlier surveys were of great help to scholars of Buddhism worldwide, many people over the years have expressed their wish to have similar information made available somewhere. It is our hope that the following might in some small way respond to these requests.
