摘要
Daochuo discusses the principles of the two truths. On the basis of that, he reveals the teachings of aspiration for birth in the Pure Land, based on which he clarifies the cause and effect of the “existence rooted in emptiness.” He argues that the logic of cause and effect is empty within the Pure Land, which is the realm of non-phenomena. His view was influenced by Tanluan’s thought regarding the emptiness of the logic of cause and effect. This view of Daochuo had an influence on Shinran’s Pure Land teachings. In these teachings, we are able to witness thoughts that can be regarded as elements of Shinshu Theology.
