唯識一乘에 의한 迴向菩提聲聞의 考察 -- 種性差別論과 관련하여 =A Study of Enlightenment-Transferring Śravāka from the One Vehicle of Vijñāptimātra -- In Relation to the Theory of Gotra Discrimination

본 논문은 유식학적 一乘의 관점에서 廻向菩提聲聞의 意義와 成佛의 과정을 살펴보는 것이다. 唯識學에 있어서, 一乘의 理趣는 중생들로 하여금 大乘性을 깨달아 성불을 이루게 하는 것이다. 유식학파는 이를 현실 속에 존재하는 회향보리성문의 성불과정으로 나타내었다. 그 과정에서 유식학파는 ‘乘’의 의미를 성취된 理性의 同一性보다는 성취해야 할 ‘行性의 菩薩道(行道)’에 중점을 두면서, 대승법이 3승에 응용되어 각각의 승과 각각의 種性이 있어야 한다고 말하였다. 이로부터 3승은 1승의 이취라고 할 수 있는 본유무루종자를 因으로 하여 대승의 열반으로 나아간다고 하였다. 결국 유식학파가 1승을 설법한 것은 一乘과 三乘의 假實을 말하려는 것이 아니라, 회향보리성문의 경우를 들어 대승보살도만이 진정한 성불의 길임을 보여주려고 했다. 여기서 더 주목해야 할 점은, 회향보리성문은 성숙 받는 측에 있고, 성숙해야할 주체는 불⋅보살이라는 점이다. 곧 불⋅보살로부터 중생에게로 가는 ‘成 佛의 旅程’이 존재함을 알 수 있었다.
This article is to examine the meaning of “Enlightenment-Transferring Śravāka” and the process of attaining Buddhahood through the “One Vehicle” of Yogācāra Buddhism. In Vijñāptimātra, the true meaning of the “One Vehicle” is to make sentient beings realize the nature of Mahāyāna and achieve Buddhahood. The Yogācāra School regards this to be the process for the Śravāka to attain Buddhahood. In this process, the Yogācāra School focused on the Bodhisattva path which says sentient beings should focus only on practice rather than focus on the identity of the nature of the principle achieved. Once the Bodhisattva path is applied to the Three Vehicles, each vehicle is supposed to have its own gotra. The Three Vehicles advance to the stage of the Mahāyānan nirvana because of the inherent “non-defiled seed,” the true meaning of the One Vehicle. Finally, the reason the Yogācāra School expounds the principle of the One Vehicle is not to say whether the One Vehicle and the Three Vehicles are real or provisional, but to reveal the path of a Mahāyāna Bodhisattva which shows the real way of accomplishing Buddhahood through the case of the Enlightenment-Transferring Śravāka. What we have to focus on here is that a Enlightenment-Transferring Śravāka is in a part of being matured. The subject to mature is Buddhas or Bodhisattvas. Namely, we know that sentient beings must make the journey to attain Buddhahood before becoming Buddhas or Bodhisattvas.
