Shri Kalachakra is one of the teachings of Mahayana. Since it was introduced into Tibet in the early 13 th century,it has been worshiped by all religious sects of Tibetan Buddhism. Because it was related with Shambhala, the ideal pure land in Buddhist legend, and it is also related with Shangri-la in the20 th century,it has aroused interest of both Eastern and Western monks and laymen. Leaders of different sects of Tibetan Buddhism held Kalachakra Dhama assemblies to contact with people of all walks of life and expand social influence. After arriving in the hinterland in 1925,the Ninth Panchen held Kalachakra Dhama assembly many times which played a positive role in promoting religious and cultural exchanges, national unity and fighting against Japanese.
