This paper discusses the artistic formation and development of the flying image in the Northern Wei dynasty, focusing on the changes of modelling, clothing, color,composition form,analyzing the changes of the aesthetic pattern of the flying image in early and middle Northern Wei dynasty. It points out that communication and development of Buddhist ideas and the statuary art,the integration of multicultural creation in the Northern Wei dynasty jointly promoted the aesthetic shift in space and time.
