宗賾=Zong Ze; 《禪苑清規》=Chan Yuan Qing Gui; 黑水城=Khara-Khoto; 《慈覺禪師勸化文》=The Collection of the Persuasion of Zen Master Cijue; 《慈覺禪師語錄》=The Quotations of Zen Master Cijue
The origin, life, and works of Zen Master Zong Ze Ci Jue (1037-1106) are always obscure and disputed. It can merely ten more Zen quotations in ＂the Lamp Series＂ and a few verses of the chanting Buddha scattered in the Lian-Zong classics in domestic Buddhist documents. It does not match the status of the ＂Five Great Following Masters of the Lotus Society,＂ or the Seventh and Eighth Patriarchs, as well as the status of the Eight Patriarchs of the Yun-Men Chang-Lu of Shi's Sect. Fortunately, the ten-volume version of the Chan Yuan Qing Gui is available overseas and makes Japanese scholars publish research first. With the publication of artifacts such as the Russian cultural relics from Khara-Khoto TK132, Cijue's Persuade Collection, the discovery of Cijue's Quotations Collection in the Komazawa University Library, the report of the stone carving No. 15 niche in Da-Fo-Wan, Da Zu Bao Ding, and the preservation of the remnants of the ＂Quan Xiao Wen＂ or Wei Jiang Collection by Zong Ze in the Yun-nan Azhali classics, and new research by China scholars all had impressive achievements. In short, Zong Ze's Chan Yuan Qing Gui still needs further research and re-examine. Therefore, the abovementioned issues supplement two previous articles, ＂Related Researches on Monk Cijue's Works in Khara-Khoto Documents＂ and ＂The Compilation of Chan Buddhist Books as Seen from Related Works by Chan Master Cijue.＂
