永明延壽는 一心을 기준으로 제 종파를 통합하는 과정에서 『종경록』을 편찬했다. 당시의 제 종파의 글이 발췌되어 수록된 『종경록』에는 천태종의 글이 상당수 인용되어 있다. 뿐만 아니라 연수의 스승인 天台德韶는 당시 천태종과 매우 긴밀한 관계를 맺어왔으며, 연수의 후대에서 바로 산가산외파의 논쟁이 있었다는 것을 볼 때, 천태종의 역사에서 연수가 미친 영향에 대해서 연구할 필요가 있다. 그래서 천태학과 연수의 사상적 연관성을 살펴보기 위해 一心개념에 대한 智의와 延壽의 이해를 살펴보고자 한다. 지의와 연수 모두 一心을 본질적 心과 대상과 반연하는 心의 두 가지로 구분한다. 그러나 一心의 두 의미인 본질적 부분과 대상과 반연하는 부분의 관계 문제 있어서 지의는 본질적 부분과 반연하는 부분의 긴밀한 관계성에 초점을 맞추어 心이 一切法이라고 말하고 있지만, 연수는 본질적 부분에 무게중심을 두면서 대상과 반연하는 부분을 포섭하는, 그의 표현을 따르자면 진여의 불변성에 중심을 두면서 수연을 설명하는 방식을 취하였다. 그러나 『종경록』의 인용방식으로는 일심과 일체법의 관계에 대한 지의의 의도가 연수의 입장에서 가려서 오해되기 쉽다. 그렇지 않아도 종밀 등 화엄종의 영향으로 화엄화되어 정체성이 불분명한 위기의 상황에 연수의 삼교통합은 천태학의 정체성을 정립할 필요성을 제기하게 되었고, 산가산외파 논쟁을 촉발하였다고 생각한다.
This thesis focused on the understanding about One-mind(一心) in the thought of Chii & Yanshou. Yanshou and his teacher Deshao(德韶) were very closed in Tientai-school. However the study of the interchange in their thought doesn’t have been enough. As analyzing the meaning of One-mind denoted passages from Chii’s witings, such as Mohochiguan(摩訶止觀), Fahwasuanyi(法華玄義), in Zongjiglu(宗鏡錄), we will look into their interchange. The One-mind has two meanings. One is the One-mind as real aspect(實相)and the other is the mind according with conditions(隨緣). Chii & Yanshou, both of them accept these meanings. But on the view of their relation, Chii handles them equally and focuses on their connection, but Yanshou steps his foot on the real aspect and embrace according with conditions. Their understanding about One-mind is different clearly, however following the discussion of Zongjiglu(宗鏡 錄), there is a risk that Chii's One-mind will be understand in yanshou’s view. Such situation makes feel dangerous to Tientai-school, So it makes them to establish their identity.
