Based on field work on Buddhist charity organizations in the Chinese Mainland and Taiwan,this paper make a comparative study of such aspects as ideas,government policy,popularity and self-construction of Buddhism on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.The paper also points out that the Buddhist charity organizations should put themselves into the whole social welfare system in order to make a better use of the resources from both government and society.
