| 摘要 | 이 글은 통도사 고승인 경봉의 삶에서 만해 한용운과의 인연, 영향 등에 대해 살핀 글이다. 지금껏 경봉의 생애, 선사상에 대해서는 많은 연구가 있다. 그러나 그의 생애에서 한용운에 대한 연구는 심화되지 않았다. 그래서 이 글에서는 경봉의 삶의 흐름, 성격 등을 만해 한용운과의 관련성에 유의하여 살피고자 한다. 이를 위해서 필자는 다음과 같은 측면을 유의하여 살피고자 한다. 첫째, 경봉이 살았던 시대의 흐름을 유의한다. 그 당시는 나라가 망하고, 민족 존립이 위태로왔다. 그래서 경봉은 독립운동, 민족운동에 관심이 많았을 것이다. 둘째, 경봉은 통도사 주지를 역임하면서 불교, 국가, 독립운동에 대해서 많은 고민을 하였다. 다양한 행보를 가면서 고민한 그의 민족적 행보를 들추어내고자 한다. 셋째, 경봉은 장지연, 한용운과 인연을 가지면서 그의 민족사상을 드러냈다. 특히 만해와의 다양한 만남 및 인연은 그의 민족적 사상을 심화시켰다. 넷째, 경봉은 조계사 건설에 협조, 선학원 이사장으로 활동, 한용운 비석 건립의 책임자 등을 역임하면서 민족사상을 구현하였다. 이처럼 경봉은 다양한 민족적 행보를 역사에 남겼다. 이 글이 경봉의 생애와 사상, 통도사의 근대사, 만해사상의 계승 등의 이해에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.
This article is about the relationship and influence of Manhae Han Yong-un in the life of Gyeongbong, a high-ranking official of Tongdosa Temple. So far, there has been a lot of research on Gyeongbong's life and prehistoric images. But the study of Han Yong-un in his life has not deepened. Therefore, in this article, I want to examine the relationship between Gyeongbong and Han Yong-un by looking at the flow of life and personality of Gyeongbong's life. Therefore, in this article, we would like to pay attention to the relevance of Han Yong-un to the outline, flow, and character of Gyeongbong's national thought. To this end, I would like to take note of the following aspects. First, pay attention to the flow of the times when Gyeongbong lived. At that time the nation was ruined, and the existence of the people was at stake. So Gyeongbong must have been interested in the independence movement and the national movement. Second, while serving as the head of Tongdosa Temple, Gyeongbong thought a lot about Buddhism, the nation, and the independence movement. He wants to uncover his ethnic movements, which he agonized over while taking various steps. Third, Gyeongbong revealed his ethnic ideas by having ties with Jang Ji-yeon and Han Yong-un. In particular, various meetings and ties with Manhae deepened his ethnic ideas. Fourth, Gyeongbong implemented national ideas while serving as the director of the Seonhakwon, and in charge of the construction of Han Yong-un monument. As such, Kyungbong has left various ethnic moves in history. It is hoped that this article will help us understand the life and thoughts of Gyeongbong, the modern history of Tongdosa Temple, and the succession of Manhae thought. |
