This thesis discusses the Zhiguan-Ch’an inherited and studied by Ven. Hiu-Wan (1912~2004). The ideological core of the Zhiguan-Ch’an of Ven. Hiu-Wan is “Prajna Ch’an Buddha Mind School”- which combines Samadhi (meditation) and Prajna (subtle wisdom) and pinpoints the innated pure clear mind of buddhas and sentient beings. This is displayed on the“enlightened education”of Buddhism in the form of awakening and helping both self and others. The history and origin of the study is Ch’an and TienTai School Ch’an and finally integrate into the study of Tien Tai Master Tan Xu (1875~1963) and convert himself under the field. Furthermore, Ven. Hiu-Wan divided the development and revolution of Buddhism Ch’an into “original Buddhism Ch’an,”“Prajna Pureland Ch’an,”” Dharma Ch’an of Two Ways and Four Paths to Cultivation,” “Doctrine Meditation Ch’an of Tientai ,” “Prajna Ch’an after the changing of Buddhism Ch’an” This article interprets and explains the theory, study, and related code of these five phases. In the aspect of Ch’an and application, Ven. Hiu-Wan had the features of “the combination of Tathagata Ch’an and Patriarchal Ch’an,”“ the confluence of Ch’an and Pureland,”“ the integration of Confucianism and Buddhism,”“surpass the Middle-path in the heart and object,” and “Management in Ch’an Style ”etc. These were different from the disciples who hold the prejudice of the Schools. In the aspect of teaching the public with Prajna Ch’an, Ven. Hiu-Wan had diversity and fabulous appearances and open the gate of good. As for the teaching career, her style is various with both expedients and excellence which has been concluded in this article as following: Educationization, Scholarization, Artisticization, Lifeization.
