Sutra copying was an indispensable step in the process of engraving Fangshan Stone Sutra, and it has produces a series of brand-new features in the Liao Dynasty. Based on the examination of the Fangshan Stone Sutra in the Liao Dynasty, monks, laymen and artisans who are representative of the Liao Dynasty sutra are explored. The sutra copying of these groups, on one hand, are driven by religious beliefs, on the other hand, they are also the accumulation and continuation of the previous sutra copying, which jointly built a sound cooperative network. Under the continuous planning of the rulers and general masters of the Liao Dynasty, the writing mode of stone sutra was gradually matured, sutra copying were gradually organized, and the layout of stone sutra copy was increasingly reasonable, even the logic of Tripitaka texts became more prominent. These have provided literature materials for the discussion of religious and cultural history of Youzhou and the status of literature in Liao Dynasty.
