한국의 선종사에서 선종오가의 선리에 대하여 종합적인 강요서로서 처음으로 출현한것은 환성지안의 『선문오종강요』이다. 환성지안의 『강요』는 『인천안목』 및 『선문강요집』에서도 크게 영향을 받았다. 『강요』는 선종오가에서 전개된 다양한 교의에 대하여전체적인 이해의 폭을 확장해주었을 뿐만 아니라, 그 가운데 몇 가지 선리에 대해서는환성지안의 안목을 잘 보여주고 있다. 특히 임제종의 교의인 「분양삼구」 및 「삼종사자화」, 그리고 조동종의 교의인 「사이류」 에 대한 이해 등은 자파에만 국한되는 교의를 초월하여 선종오가에 공통적인 기반으로활용할 수 있음을 보여주는 안목이기도 하였다. 기타 법안종, 운문종, 위앙종의 교의에대해서도 몇 가지 특수한 면모를 보여주고 있는 점은 선리에 대한 천착이 자칫 이론적인 굴레에 빠지기 쉬운 교의에 대하여 지극히 간명직절(簡明直截)하고 단순명쾌하게 해명했다는 점에서 의의를 부여할 수가 있다
The first comprehensive guide to the doctrine of Five Zen-sections in the history of Zen-sections in Korea was Sunmoon-Ojonggangyo(禪門五宗 綱要) of Huansung-Jian(喚醒志安). Huansung-Jian's Seonmoon-Ojonggangyo greatly embraced the influence of Rentianyanmu(人天眼目), which emerged during the Song period, in terms of its system and composition. In addition, Linjizong's(臨濟宗) doctrine was greatly influenced by the Sunmoon-gangyojip(禪門綱要集) of the Goryeo Dynasty. Sunmoon-Ojonggangyo not only expanded the overall understanding of the various doctrines developed in Five zen-sections, but also demonstrated Huansung-Jian's perspective on some of them. In particular, the understanding of Fenyang-sanju(汾陽三句) and Sanzong-shizihua(三種師子話) about Linji-zong's doctrines, and Siyilei(四異 類) about Caodong-zong's(曹洞宗) doctrines were also seen as a common basis for Five Zen-sections beyond the doctrines limited to one sect. In addition, the inclusion of Yuanwu-wuijiazongyo(圓悟五家宗要) in Fayanzong's(法眼宗) doctrine took into account the fact that Fayanzong accepted various teachings of Five zen-sections from the beginning. In addition, the metaphor of penetrating three gates with one arrow about the relationship between Yunmen's three-phrase and one-phrase in Yunmenzong's doctrine was an eye for Yiziguan's(一字關) doctrine, which Yunmenzong emphasized. Moreover, the understanding of the three types of Wuwei(五位), the Caudong-zong's doctrine, was a good understanding of the Caudongzong's meticulous character. On the other hand, it was understood that the termination of Weiyangzong(潙仰宗) was explained by explaining the the essence and its function,( 體用) and Fayanzong's termination was understood by explaining onlymind(唯心).
