Tzu Chi's Global Environmental Action is an important contemporary Buddhist environmental practice that responds to global climate change and ecological crises based on Tzu Chi's local environmental experience in Taiwan. Tzu Chi's environmental endeavors extend beyond Taiwan, not only to Asian countries such as China, Malaysia, and Indonesia, but also to global environmental and climate change initiatives through the Tzu Chi USA. As a Buddhist NGO based on Humanistic Buddhism, Tzu Chi, on the one hand, carries out environmental protection actions based on Buddhist ecological concern, and on the other hand, actively engages in inter-religious and inter-organizational cooperation to link up with global partners. The globalization of Tzu Chi's environmental initiatives is an important case study in exploring Buddhist organizations' response to contemporary environmental issues, and can be used to reflect on Buddhist practice patterns in response to climate change.
